He has extensive experience in the restoration of furniture and wood artifacts. Robert pioneered the Weathersby Guild in both Seattle and Gainsville Florida before transitioning to Oklahoma.

The process of restoration can vary in complexity, ranging from a simple cleaning to remove surface dirt or grime, such as on a painting, to almost complete reconstruction or replacement, as is often necessary for vintage furniture. It's primary objective is to return the item to its original appearance or functionality.
Distinguishing between restoration and repair is crucial. Basic repairs can restore functionality, but true restoration is an artistic endeavor that demands a specific skill set. Finishes may be stripped and refinished, yet it is imperative to preserve the original patina whenever feasible. Complete stripping is typically reserved as a last resort, especially for antique furniture.
Antique restoration often presents additional challenges, such as the risk of "over-restoration," which can diminish the item's value. Consequently, there are cases where a full restoration is not advisable. Therefore, the restoration of valuable objects should be entrusted to knowledgeable professionals who understand the nuances of the craft and will selectively restore only those elements that enhance the value of the furniture or other antique items.
How long will it take to restore my furniture?
Every project we undertake is distinct, making it challenging to provide precise timelines. At our facility, each project is handled in the order it is received, following a "first come, first served" principle. While we make an effort to estimate completion times based on the ongoing projects in our workshop, we must emphasize that these estimates may not always be entirely accurate.
Is it possible to repair loose or broken chairs to a level of strength equivalent to when they were new?
Certainly. In most cases, the repair will result in a condition superior to when it was originally new.
